Roman Gladiator Porridge

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of faba beans
  • 1 cup of barley
  • 1L water
  • 1 onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbps red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

Soak barley and bean for a few hours.

Peel beans if necessary.

Slice and fry the onion.

Add the water and bring to boil.

Add the barley and cook for 30 mins.

Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for about 30 mins.
