Glazed Green Beans with Almonds


  • 200gm Green beans
  • 20gm Flaked almonds
  • 25gm Butter
  • Half a lemon
  • Salt
  • Pepper


Prepare a saucepan of salted boiling water.

Heat a small pan, add the almonds and brown them gently. Remove them from the pan and set aside.

Top ‘n tail the beans, then cut in half.

Add the beans to the water and remove after 2 minutes and drain, immediately returning them to the saucepan (it doesn’t matter if there’s still a bit of water left).

Add the butter, almonds and a squeeze of lemon juice, season with a little salt and pepper.

Mix everything around until the butter is melted and all the beans are covered.
