Progress has been made on the Hobbit themed diorama that will end up being my entry into this year’s Armies on Parade. I’ve learned a lot and regretted quite a few decisions. One of the main things I’ve learned is that no matter how many different types of glue you own, you won’t have the one you need. I think buying material for terrain making is a bit different from GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) or MAS (model acquisition syndrome) because generally you buy something because there’s quite a specific need at the time. So it gets used, but either once or very infrequently. Do I need latex glue? Maybe…
Flocking is my favourite, and probably every terrainiac’s favourite, part of a build. I’ve blended Woodland Scenics and Noch static grasses into a mix that seems suitable for general grassy, rolling hills. Woodland Scenics course turf and clump foliage form the bulk of the rest of the greenery. And a lot of PVA glue.
