Wine Review: d’Arenberg “The High Trellis”, McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Appearance: Medium ruby

Boquet: Fruity scent, berries, spice.

Palate: Smooth, fresh fruity, late subtle oaky warmth, medium finish.

A really accessible wine, I had this at a local steak house and went to find a bottle later on. For $19AUD ($43AUD at the restaurant) this is my current favourite red. It’s got body but isn’t heavy and after 20 minutes of airing it the whole character really changes into something you can really pay attention to, or just enjoy. Grand!
