Since I’ve been in Sydney watching babycakes strut her stuff on centre stage, I wasn’t able to update. But I wanted to mention the following…Every winter solstice my workplace celebrates with a “Soup Day, cooking up a number of pots of soup for the group, plus bread and this year mulled wine. It”s a good tradition to have and I”ll be sorry to miss it next year. Before the lunch there”s another tradition – far less warming, with far less participants. Every year on, the shortest day, some of my colleagues throw themselves into Lake Burley Griffin to kickstart the morning. I didn’t participate this year as I had a cold (no joke!) The whole thing was covered in the Canberra Times. This activity is open to anyone interested in joining in…so I”ll see you all there next year!’
