Once you’ve rolled out the dough it’s worth letting it rise for a while. This will give you more of a “deep dish” style pizza base.
- 500gm of flour
- 7gm of yeast
- 1/2 Tbsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of salt
- 300ml of warm water
Put the yeast, sugar and water into your mixing bowl and whisk them all together. Let the yeast activate and become bubbly (about 10 minutes).
Add the salt and the flour and knead for 10 minutes (or 5 minutes in an electric mixer with dough hook).
Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes.
On a floured surface, take half the dough and roll it out into a rough pizza shape (or any shape you want, really!)
Do the same with the other half.
Let the pizza bases rise a little bit before you put the toppings on (15 – 25 minutes will let them puff up).
