Nice haboobs

I wasn’t sure if it was worth the effort to post about the hubbub that is the haboob. But after realising that it sounded funny I had no choice. Some Texans are upset that their weather bureau used the term “haboob” to describe an incoming dust storm. The term has been around for quite some time and used regularly in this context. But because it’s not English it’s bad. I can’t find the link right now but this is akin to the groups that demanded the removal of a “snake writing” banner that was calling for peace and love in Arabic. There’s no point in attempting to enter into dialogue with people like that, which is why I was hesitant to post this. But it’s a good word. I agree with whoever this guys is:
