N.R.G?! (BuzzMoo)

Somehow Mert has gone a month into the future to do stuff, i don’t know about that…

So i get home at 5am or so, drift off to sleep at about 6am, only to be messaged by El Capitan, who’s just got a mobile over in the UK (and he told me so). Thus begins the SMS convo which lasts about an hour (i think he was at a pub). So quater to 8 i drift off to sleep again, only to be called at 9 by one of our OzForces clients, for an Onsite call that lasted 4 hours. Total sleep = not much.

I experienced some of the worst software today, at OneBasketball. This onsite ended up with me sending part of their database via email to Melbourne, where the programmers there repaired the busted files and sent them back to me. I think i must have recieved/made nearly 30 phone calls today. As soon as i got home, the randomness began with Mel, The Coombs Man and Timmm turning up (barging in) and making pancakes. The Mel (ever so kindly) invited 4 of her workmates to my place, none of which i’ve ever met (or plan to meet ever again).

It’s now 1am and i feel fully powered and can’t sleep, so maybe i’ll end up with 3 days sleepless now. Could be interesting. The problem is i’m keen to go out but no one is around, and i’m still underage. That will change shortly.

Night of the bins (Mert)

Last night/this morning was really all about the bins. It started with Timmy knocking over my neighbours’ bin with the Volvo o’ doom. After some tv at the Coombs’ he took the ’stick of enforcement’ out for a drive and enforced some other bins (no damage actually done). The drive took us to our friendly neighbourhood airport for milk of all things. Some bunnies were nearly enforced on the way and the stick of enforcement was lost in the process.

From somewhere around 3am or so we watched some crap comedy then found something far more hilarious – people falling off bikes. Apparently downhill bikes are made primarily for riding downhill as the bike is usually pointed down the hill. Go figure.

On the way home Buzz and I came accross the result of some hardcore pranksters’ hard work. Sometime between 12 and 5 someone had moved 4 or so garbage bins into the middle of the road. As tempting as running them down was Buzz resisted the urge.

So I got 3 hours sleep and strangely enough feel absolutely normal. I think I’ve got more energy than I did yesterday after 9 hours sleep. However sometime during that 3 hour period my throat absolutely died to the max.

Oh yeah, and re: Buzz’s bitch about radio tools these days I yesterday heard a news bulletin in which the reporter said that some event involving the Canberra Cannons is “becoming more and more less likely to happen”. People sure are getting less and less not stupid. And I should know!

“A year from today you’re going to weigh more or less than you do now.” (Mert)

Been a week. Hasn’t been much to write about. Jan ‘03 is now i the archives.

The results of the Mert’s Kitchen survey have been coming in nicely. Lots of original suggestions from people but I don’t think penis, my head or feces are really suitable choices. Apart from “BM’s head” it looks like tomato will be the winner.

In other news I will be going to UC. Thank goodness for alternative entry schemes. Providing I don’t screw it up I’ll go into B. Applied Eco in semester 2 or something. In the mean time I get to study micro and business stats *shudder*. Precisely what I was hoping to avoid but I guess I can’t complain. At least I’m not like Escobedo who has 9 hours of finance or something on Wednesdays :p. Bwahah.

I also have a new housemate inbound. This one’s being imported from Gosford I think. Friend of a friend type stuff. Studying at UC but has nowhere to stay. Nothing certain yet but looks likely.

Oh, and if anyone’s still sad about the Columbia I suggest listening to Space Walk by Lemon Jelly.

Oh, and if anyone’s still sad about me not having money I suggest giving me money.

Duty (BuzzMoo)

I’m going to buy Warcraft 3. I mean it. It brings to mind something Tycho and Gabe once wrote about. It goes something like this. . . ok well i can’t find the link to the comic, but basically Gabe is no good at Warcraft 3. Same goes for me, but i feel compelled to buy it. I’ve decided to get good. I’m working on a deal with Matty, God of all things Warcraft. Maybe if i sell my soul, the secrets of UberTech will be revealed to me. This whole things is partly because The Frozen Throne looks so cool.

Today = SolonLAN, followed by me attempting to sleep tonight and the cruising to Sydney with OzRoy and Aray tomorrow morning at first light. We’re going to be doing some serious server re-organisation in the Comindico building. That said, tomorrow expect some downtime to some of our ’services’. These include (but not limited to!) the BuzzMoo.com Forums, The flash archives, and most downloads (ie my Audio and Photo stuff), as we will literally removing the server for a while.

For all of the OzForces fans that read here – please expect downtime to all OzSites and all 60 game servers. Word has it that it will only take a few hours. Let’s hope so. And lets hope i’m back before dinner.

I hate how radio announcers for some reason playing around with band names. “The Gurge”, “The Chair”, “The Oils”, “The Peppers”, “The Pumpkins”. Anything that actually obscures the band name. This usually only applies to heavy commercial stations, in my case FM 107.4. On the way home just now i heard the best so far: “The Fighters of Foo”. Thats real clever, right there…

Calling card of Love (BuzzMoo)

Last night (with much jubilation) I was informed that our OzForces business cards had finally arrived. Arriving at Bandit’s i was promptly *glomped* by little Riker, who refused to detatch himself from me, found my Super LED keyring and proceeded to shine it in my eyes as often as he could. Aray turned up also, to collect his cards, and all was well. They’re damn sexy.

My latest on-site was a trip to the Fiji High Commission, before arriving i cleverly spilt coffee on my beige pants, leaving a big brown stain all down my left leg. No worries! I’ll be sitting at a desk – or atleast i will be until the Commissioner comes out to say hello! I really have no idea what a commissioner’s purpose is, but everyone called him “Commissioner” and he drove a 700 series BMW. He’s gotta be good for something!

- While i was writing this post, the sad news struck – minutes ago, NASA shuttle Columbia has exploded upon re-entry. Elroy had dissapeared, but ran back saying something about something else exploding. I was in a pretty good mood just before, but now i feel hollow inside. All 7 crew were killed, including Israel’s first astronaut, Col. Ilan Ramon. He had wife, four children and his parents waiting for his return to earth.

I don’t think i’ll write any more tonight.
